A whip smart librarian’s fresh start comes with a tart twist in this perfect cocktail of murder and mystery—with a romance chaser.
MURDER ON TAP
With Chicago winters in the rearview mirror, Chloe Jackson is making good on a promise: help her late friend’s grandmother run the Sea Glass Saloon in the Florida Panhandle. To Chloe’s surprise, feisty Vivi Slidell isn’t the frail retiree Chloe expects. Nor is Emerald Cove. It’s less a sleepy fishing village than a panhandle hotspot overrun with land developers and tourists. But it’s a Sea Glass regular who’s mysteriously crossed the cranky Vivi. When their bitter argument comes to a head and he’s found dead behind the bar, guess who’s the number one suspect?
In trying to clear Vivi’s name, Chloe discovers the old woman isn’t the only one in Emerald Cove with secrets. Under the laidback attitude, sparkling white beaches, and small town ways something terrible is brewing. And the sure way a killer can keep those secrets bottled up is to finish off one murder with a double shot: aimed at Chloe and Vivi.
Sherry Harris is the Agatha Award-nominated author of the Sarah Winston Garage Sale Mystery series and the upcoming Chloe Jackson Sea Glass Saloon mysteries. She is a past president of Sisters in Crime, and a member of the Chesapeake Chapter of Sisters in Crime, the New England Chapter of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, and International Thriller Writers.
In her spare time, Sherry loves reading and is a patent-holding inventor. Sherry, her husband, and guard dog Lily are living in northern Virginia until they figure out where they want to move to next.

Tea & Treachery (Tea by the Sea Mysteries)
1st in Series
Publisher: Kensington (July 28, 2020)
Hardcover: 304 pages
Digital ASIN: B07ZPKGT3R
In this charming new cozy mystery series from nationally bestselling author, Vicki Delany, a New York City expat-turned-Cape Cod tea shop owner must solve the murder of a local real estate developer to help her feisty grandmother out of a jam . . .
As the proud proprietor and head pastry chef of Tea by the Sea, a traditional English tearoom on the picturesque bluffs of Cape Cod, Roberts has her hands full, often literally. But nothing keeps her busier than steering her sassy grandmother, Rose, away from trouble. Rose operates the grand old Victorian B & B adjacent to Lily’s tea shop . . . for now. An aggressive real estate developer, Jack Ford, is pushing hard to rezone nearby land, with an eye toward building a sprawling golf resort, which would drive Rose and Lily out of business.
Tempers are already steaming, but things really get sticky when Ford is found dead at the foot of Rose’s property and the police think she had something to do with his dramatic demise. Lily can’t let her grandmother get burned by a false murder charge. So she starts her own investigation and discovers Ford’s been brewing bad blood all over town, from his jilted lover to his trophy wife to his shady business partners. Now, it’s down to Lily to stir up some clues, sift through the suspects, and uncover the real killer before Rose is left holding the tea bag.
I have my desk set up. I have my computer ready, the keyboard dusted, bagel crumbs removed. I have classical music playing on the sound system, a refreshing drink at hand. I’ve done my finger exercises.
I’m ready and pumped.
And I can’t think of a single word. I’ve been trying to work on this book for years. YEARS! I’ve written and had published, to great acclaim I modestly add, several short stories. I’ve been told I’ve got the talent, and I certainly have the will. Now, all I need is to write the book.
Against everyone’s advice, I quit my job as a forensic accountant with a big Manhattan law firm, cashed in my savings, and rented a house near the sea in Cape Cod. I specifically came to North Augusta because my best friend, Lily Roberts, recently moved here to open her tea room, Tea by the Sea, next door to her grandmothers B&B, Victoria-on-Sea.
But with all that’s been going on at the tea room and the B&B this summer how’s a girl going to concentrate on a piece of fiction? Lily suggested I take advantage of being on the sea to capture the mood of the wild ocean. So I moved the book from New York to Cape Cod. And then I changed my plot from a multi-generational historical saga, to two women setting up a detective agency.
Actually, I’ve changed the setting and the plot and the characters a couple of times. Maybe I should go back to my original idea? No, focus Bernadette. Focus.
I wonder what Lily’s baking today? Scones for sure. To serve with butter, clotted cream, and homemade jam. Probably shortbread and coconut cupcakes, and macarons. The pistachio macarons are my favourite. Plus tea sandwiches, all as delicious as they look.
Maybe I’ll pop over to the tea room before I start work. A couple of those sandwiches and a macaron will get me in the mood to write.
Find out if Bernadette Murphy ever does get her book written and what else is baking in the kitchen at Tea by the Sea in Vicki’s Delany’s newest book, Tea and Treachery. from Kensington
